Police Arrest 66 Suspected Cultists In Plateau

Commissioner of Police Hassan Yabanet revealed this while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Jos. He explained that the arrests were made at various locations during the Sallah festivities, with weapons seized from the suspects.
Yabanet emphasized the command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, noting the peaceful conduct of the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.
During the operation, a total of seventy-six (66) suspects were apprehended across the state, and a significant quantity of illicit items was confiscated, including machetes, daggers, suspected Indian hemp, tricycles, motorcycles, and bottles containing illicit substances.
The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be promptly charged to court.
In addition to the cult-related arrests, the commissioner disclosed that two other suspects were apprehended in Wase LGA for armed robbery. He reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance stance against lawlessness and urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and wards.
Yabanet expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the media in the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force.
