Police Foil Bandit Attack In Zamfara, Kill Notorious Kingpin

In a fierce clash between security personnel and bandits in Zamfara, several lives were lost, including four members of the Civilian Protection Guard, two hunters, and one police officer. The encounter, which took place early Friday morning, also resulted in the deaths of numerous bandits.

According to DSP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the state police command, the bandits, in large numbers, attacked Keta village in the Tsafe Local Government Area at approximately 3:40 PM, intending to target the villagers. In response, a joint operation involving the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), hunters, and Civilian Protection Guard members (CPG) was swiftly mobilized to confront the attackers.

During the battle, the security personnel made significant sacrifices, with one PMF member, four CPG members, and two hunters losing their lives. Two additional hunters are receiving treatment for their injuries.

The police statement highlighted the success of the operation, revealing that several bandits, including the notorious kingpin Dan Isuhu Mudale, were killed. Mudale had been a key figure in the ongoing banditry in Tsafe and surrounding areas.

Abubakar reassured the citizens of Zamfara that the police are dedicated to restoring peace in the state and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for swift intervention.
