Police Speaks On Those Indicted In Mohbad’s Death
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, emphasized on Monday that anyone implicated in the passing of Afrobeats artist, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, will face the consequences.
Adejobi made this assertion in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter), where many Nigerians expressed their anticipation for the results of the police investigation, despite an alleged suspect being currently out of the country.

He stated, “Anyone who is indicted in this case won’t go unpunished. Whatever it is, there must be investigation concluded and report forwarded for necessary action.”

Addressing the Mohbad case specifically, Adejobi affirmed that it has been given the proper attention it deserves. He cautioned against hidden agendas aimed at stirring unrest or inciting the public against the Nigerian government.
He added, “I think we need to allow the investigation team formed by the police to carry out its investigations. There can’t be justice without investigation. Investigation encompasses so many things.”
“Don’t be surprised that those you don’t know or you have not mentioned might be indicted. In the security business, we say trust no one. So, let us allow the team to do its job.”
In the same vein, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, mentioned last Thursday that Mohbad’s remains could be exhumed for an autopsy. This statement was made during an Instagram live session with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, addressing questions about the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s demise.
Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday as well, stated that the police would conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of Mohbad’s passing. The police urged family members or close associates of the late Mohbad with pertinent information to approach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to assist in the process.
Furthermore, the police appealed to individuals to refrain from making statements or engaging in activities that could jeopardize the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the deep value placed on people’s trust and support.
