President Tinubu Boosts Healthcare Sector With New Appointments

Dr. James Enimi Omietimi has been appointed as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. With an initial term of four years, Dr. Omietimi brings a wealth of experience to the position. Graduating from the University of Port Harcourt in 1994, he holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) and specializes in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr. Omietimi has previously served in leadership roles, including as President of the Association of Resident Doctors and Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in Bayelsa State. His expertise and leadership are expected to drive improvements in healthcare delivery in the region.
Additionally, Professor Sa’ad Aliyu Ahmed has been reappointed as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja for a second term of four years. Prof. Ahmed is a distinguished Professor of Pathology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has a stellar record of service in the healthcare sector. During his initial tenure, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence. His reappointment reflects President Tinubu’s confidence in his ability to continue driving positive change and ensuring the provision of world-class healthcare services to the people of Abuja and beyond.
