The scorecard underscores the progress made towards fulfilling his Renewed Hope Agenda. Here’s a breakdown of October’s accomplishments:
TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
- Finalized partnership with Ericsson to enhance 5G technology development.
- Launched a contactless passport application, marking a significant breakthrough.
AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY
- Initiated a state-level Cadre Harmonisé (CH) analysis to pinpoint areas facing food and nutrition insecurity.
- Collaborated with Trans Sahara on ambitious soybean and sugar projects.
YOUTH AND SME DEVELOPMENT
- Approved the establishment of a creative economy development fund.
- Implemented an Intellectual Property Monetisation Pilot initiative.
ROAD SAFETY
- Inaugurated the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NaRSAC) to promote safer roads.
SOCIAL WELFARE
- Launched Nigeria’s largest ultra-modern MSME fashion hub in Enugu State.
- Approved ₦150,000 grants for business owners in Enugu.
- Revitalized the livestock sector to boost the economy.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
- Introduced the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) to drive economic growth through targeted investments and reforms.
- Endorsed a $1.28 billion deal between Seplat and ExxonMobil, facilitating the sale of ExxonMobil’s oil and gas assets to Seplat Energy Plc.
- Secured Germany’s €4 billion investment for Nigeria’s green energy revolution.
- Finalized a ₦122 billion project equity participation agreement with six gas infrastructure firms to enhance the midstream gas value chain.
- Signed a $3.3 billion gas sales and purchase agreement with Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Ltd.
- Obtained a $100 million loan from the African Development Bank for youth and women-led SMEs under Nigeria’s YEIB.
HEALTHCARE
- Authorized the disbursement of ₦12.911 billion to improve national health services.
- Launched an action plan to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
- Implemented zero value-added tax and excise duties on pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
- Initiated the Sokoto-Badagry highway project.
- Received the first supplies of crude oil in naira sales at the Dangote Refinery from NNPCL.
- Deployed compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles to the North-East region.
