Protest Hits Abuja Over Incessant Kidnappings

There was tension on Thursday as residents in Chukuku, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), barricaded Kuje/Gwagwalada road.
The protesters took to the streets to demand Federal Government’s quick reaction to combat insecurity.
In photos trending online, the protesters carried placards asking FG to save them from kidnappers.
A resident, Musa Abdul, told The Nation that a kidnapping gang invaded Chukuku community in Kuje Area council on Thursday morning.

Abdul said they raided several homes shooting into the air.
He said two persons, a woman and man, were abducted and later released.
When contacted the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adah confirmed the incident and said normalcy has been restored.
