While the cause of the fire remains undetermined, the swift response of firefighters helped prevent further destruction. According to Engr Martin Agbili, the Chief Safety Officer of the Anambra State Fire Service, firefighters were able to salvage some equipment and parts of the building following a distress call received at approximately 9:39 pm.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in the incident, although the extent of damage to the station’s infrastructure is yet to be fully assessed. Agbili stated that investigations into the cause of the fire will be conducted to ascertain the root cause of the outbreak.

He further emphasized the collaborative effort required for fire investigations, involving various agencies beyond the fire service. Despite the loss suffered by Kpakpando FM, the prompt response of firefighters underscores the importance of preparedness and coordinated action in mitigating such emergencies.
