Renowned Lawyer Adegoke SAN Joins APC Race for Osun Governor
A prominent legal practitioner, Hon. Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN, has officially joined the race for the 2026 Osun State governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to reports, Adegoke, widely known as K-RAD, formally announced his ambition to party leaders in Osogbo, emphasizing his commitment to service, integrity, and sustainable development for the state.
The entry of Adegoke adds to a growing list of APC aspirants, including former Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the APC, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, representing Osun-East. While Adegoke hails from Osogbo in Osun-Central, the party is reportedly under pressure to field candidates from Osun-West to ensure geographic balance, as the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, is from Ede in Osun-West.
Adegoke outlined a vision centered on four pillars: economic revival and job creation, agricultural revolution, educational and health sector transformation, infrastructural development, and security with good governance. He pledged to attract local and foreign investment, provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises, modernize schools and hospitals, and improve roads, water supply, and urban planning across the state.
Osun APC chairman Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal welcomed Adegoke to the race, assuring that the party is committed to a free, transparent, and credible primary election. He emphasized the party’s unity and mission to restore effective governance in Osun.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has intensified grassroots mobilization in anticipation of the APC primaries. Reports indicate he has visited approximately half of the state’s local councils to garner support and encourage young citizens to participate in the upcoming Continuous Voter Registration exercise. Oyebamiji also reaffirmed his backing for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the APC’s broader political agenda.
With primaries expected on or before November 10, 2025, the APC, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are preparing for a competitive gubernatorial race in Osun State.
