Reps Demand Dangote Refinery Reveal Petrol Pricing Amid NNPC Dispute

The House of Representatives has called on Aliko Dangote, owner of Dangote Refinery, to disclose the price at which it sells petroleum to NNPC Limited and other major marketers. Additionally, the lawmakers requested that NNPC reveal the cost the refinery pays for crude oil. This follows a motion by Oboku Oforji during Thursday’s plenary, sparked by a dispute between NNPC and Dangote Refinery over the petrol cost per litre.

While NNPC claims to buy petrol at N898 per litre, the refinery disputes this figure, stating its prices are lower. To resolve distribution challenges, lawmakers urged Dangote Refinery to establish or partner in building depots across the country. The motion, which commended the refinery’s role in advancing Nigeria’s energy self-sufficiency, was unanimously adopted.
