Revamping Education: Edo To Fill Vacancies With 500 Qualified Teachers

This announcement was made on Wednesday in Benin by the newly appointed Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Iyamu, as he assumed office.

Dr. Iyamu, who was sworn in on Monday following his confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly, reaffirmed the Okpebholo administration’s commitment to prioritizing education.

He revealed that the recruitment process would be conducted in phases to address the staffing shortages in public schools, emphasizing the government’s dedication to ensuring adequate staffing with qualified educators.

“The days of having only two or three teachers in a school are over. We are committed to staffing all public schools adequately,” Dr. Iyamu stated.

He also encouraged qualified candidates across the country to apply for the positions, underlining the administration’s resolve to elevate the education sector in Edo State.
