Richarlison Yet To Decide His Next Move — De Zerbi

According to Ireporter Online, the 29-year-old striker, whose current contract with Spurs runs until next year, showed his importance to the team after coming off the bench to score a late winner in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over 10-man Chelsea in the Sydney Super Cup on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, De Zerbi said Tottenham would respect Richarlison’s final decision but acknowledged that conversations are still needed to determine the player’s plans.

The Italian coach described the Brazilian as a valuable member of the squad, praising his attitude, professionalism and commitment on and off the pitch.

“I don’t know because I like him as a player and as a person. He has an unbelievable attitude and behaviour. In the end, we have to respect what he wants to do,” De Zerbi said.

When asked whether Richarlison had expressed a desire to leave Tottenham, the manager admitted that the striker’s comments had been unclear.

He explained that the forward had at different times suggested he wanted to remain at the club and on other occasions hinted at a possible departure.

De Zerbi, however, insisted that Tottenham still values the Brazilian and believes replacing him would not be an easy task.

The Spurs boss highlighted Richarlison’s goalscoring ability and work ethic, noting that his 12-goal contribution during the 2025/26 season was a result of his quality rather than luck.

Tottenham’s decision regarding Richarlison comes as the club continues its major squad rebuilding project. The North London side has already invested heavily in new players this summer and is reportedly still exploring options to strengthen its attack, with several forwards linked with a possible move to the club.

Meanwhile, Richarlison’s late goal against Chelsea extended De Zerbi’s unbeaten start as Tottenham manager. Sandro Tonali gave Spurs the lead before Chelsea equalised through Estêvão, but despite playing against 10 men after Kevin Danso’s dismissal, the Blues failed to secure victory.
