Rivers Crisis: I’m Not Distracted From My Job – Wike

Wike made this known on Friday during the final inspection of ongoing projects scheduled for commissioning in the FCT. “I am not distracted. If I am distracted, you won’t see this performance here. I am focused on my work, so I’m not distracted. I’m Minister of the FCT and work is going on. I don’t even think about it at all.”

The tension between Wike and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has been generating concerns among well-meaning Nigerians. Many of the Commissioners in Fubara’s administration, who were appointed during Wike’s tenure, resigned their positions during the week.
