Over the years great philosophers and thinkers have emerged with their big ideas on how to improve their immediate society and make the world great.

Renowned philosophers both old and young have produced original thoughts and made contributions to all endeavours and specialisations including politics, mathematics, literature, art, and science.

We have seen people like Aristotle who is among the most important and influential thinkers and teachers in human history, his writings and ideas on metaphysics, ethics, knowledge, and methodological inquiry are at the very root of human thought.

We have had people like Martin Luther King who was more than just a civil rights leader that he can be remembered for today, he was one of the world’s greatest moral and political philosophers.

A few days ago a frontline aspirant gunning for the position of APC National Chairman, Mallam Saliu Mustapha was in politics today with  Seun Okinbaloye, his depositions have shown that the youngest chairmanship aspirant in the race for the APC’s top job is a great thinker with wonderful and big ideas for the APC.

Here is a short compilation of some notable statements made by Saliu Mustpah during the explosive interview.

When asked about the formidable opposition against his aspiration bearing in mind that the majority of the contestants are Ex-governors, Ex-senators, present ministers, serving senators etc…

Hear Saliu Mustapha…

“I am not intimidated, for me, it’s a call to serve it’s not a contest of titles when you believe you have something to add then you won’t be intimidated.”

On the insinuation that serving Governors have the sole powers to make the National Chairman of the biggest political party in Africa, this was what Sali Mustapha has to say…

“It is a very easy task and I don’t know why people sometimes mention certain personalities of the party as if they are monsters, they are not monsters and are very good leaders of the party…

First of all, I can assure you that I have the blessings of most of the governors …

The style and manner you tend to lead matters, as a team player I don’t think I will have problems with any Governor, the most important thing is consultation.”

On his relationship and how to handle perceived big political chieftains of the party, he went further to say

” Politics is about inclusion you must bring about that inclusiveness of the people, give them a sense of belonging, we have different peculiarities especially in Nigerian where we come from, you can’t say what obtains in Abia State must be what is obtained in Zamfara.”

On political crisis management…

“We would manage political interest better through constant consultations and adequate engagement of all stakeholders…

Consultation doesn’t mean you are weak, you consult to carry people along and you have what we call the terms and conditions, a political party is what we call free entry and free exit if you don’t abide or don’t feel like going by the terms and conditions of the party then you are free to leave”

On who is bankrolling his campaign…

According to Saliu Mustapha people from the outside always marvel when they see the trajectory of growth of the campaign organization that they feel some banks have opened their vaults for his sponsorship.

As stated by Saliu he has no one bankrolling his campaign but instead, the campaign has taken a life of its own.

“The campaign has taken a life of its own, and because people believe in what I say and they have seen some of the issues I have canvassed for they are behind me. It is time to build a party that would outlive all of us.”

On party leadership…

“I want to lead a party that would call its representatives to account for their stewardship even before the general public asks for it. We are coming in if given the opportunity to lead the party that would first of all call its members, its senators, governors and even the president to give an account of their stewardship?
