Senate, House Of Reps To Return To Main Chambers In April

According to Tajudeen Olanipekun, the project engineer of Visible Construction Company, the final stages of renovation work are underway with meticulous attention to detail and expertise.

The National Assembly complex, often referred to as the White House, has been undergoing extensive renovation, with the two hallowed chambers being the focus of attention.

This renovation project has been allocated an additional N30 billion in the 2024 Appropriation Bill, bringing the total budget for the renovation to a staggering N60 billion.

Originally slated for completion in August 2022, the renovation has faced numerous delays, with the delivery date being pushed back several times. However, with the finishing touches being applied, lawmakers are expected to move back into their main chambers by April.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio had previously announced that President Bola Tinubu would inaugurate N30 billion worth of ongoing projects at the National Assembly in December 2023, highlighting the extensive work being done to revitalize the complex.
