Makinde conveyed this conviction during a meeting with Ondo PDP stakeholders held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

Acknowledging the bitter lessons learned from the 2020 governorship election in Ondo state, Makinde emphasized the necessity for PDP unity in the run-up to the election, underscoring that victory would not come easily.

“We have learnt from the last governorship election. Actually, you learn more when you fail than when you succeed. So, we learned bitter lessons,” Makinde remarked.

He stressed that winning the governorship election in Ondo state would be a hard-fought battle, affirming PDP’s commitment to securing victory.

Reflecting on past divisions within the party, Makinde emphasized the importance of unity, asserting that PDP is currently united and will remain so throughout the election process.

“While disagreements may arise, it is crucial for us to come together and focus on winning the government house. Success is something we can share, but failure is difficult to bear,” Makinde added.

In conclusion, Governor Makinde expressed optimism that, by the grace of God, PDP would emerge victorious in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
