During his visit to the victims at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna, the Vice President emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and banditry in the Northern region and other parts of the country. Shettima, accompanied by Governor Uba Sani, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru, and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, conveyed condolences to the affected individuals.

The visit occurred four days after the tragic airstrike, which resulted in the death of over 85 people and injuries to several others in the North-Western state.

The incident has garnered condemnation from both local and international watchdogs, prompting calls for investigations and a comprehensive review of procedural activities. The Army has taken responsibility for the accident, with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa issuing an apology to the community and pledging to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
