Chilling turn of events, a 28-year-old man has been arrested following the tragic discovery of his three-month-old son’s lifeless body inside a sealed bucket at their family home. The incident has shocked the community and led to intense investigations by local authorities.

The Lafayette Police Department initially responded to a distress call from a woman who reported being assaulted by her husband, Eliasard Moneus. The woman alleged that Moneus attacked her with a tire iron or possibly a wrench before fleeing with their infant son, Jacob Moneus.

Upon receiving the call, police conducted a search of the family home but did not find the missing baby. Moneus, who was later apprehended in Indianapolis early on August 11, initially denied knowing his son’s whereabouts. Despite his assurances that the child was safe, a subsequent search of the residence revealed a horrifying scene.

In a grim twist, officers found baby Jacob’s body inside an orange bucket with a snap-seal lid. The Tippecanoe County Coroner has identified asphyxia as the preliminary cause of death, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
