The Abia State Police Command has declared six men wanted over their alleged involvement in activities linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), according to a report by Ireporter Online.

The individuals identified by the police are Chukwuebuka Ohaechesi, Emma Okonkwo, Jude Uwa, Gentle Okoro, Uchenna Dike, and Emmanuel Nwankwo.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Eguavon Omokaro, the police alleged that the suspects are members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and were involved in organizing and participating in various protests across Abia State.

The Command stated that the demonstrations were reportedly connected to calls for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, alongside demands for justice through legal means. It further alleged that some of the protests resulted in public disturbances and disruptions of order in parts of the state.

According to the statement, intelligence-led investigations identified the six individuals as key figures in the planning and coordination of the said activities. The police also alleged that the suspects and their supporters frequently converge annually on May 30 to observe Biafra remembrance events at different locations, in furtherance of the Biafran agitation and campaigns for Kanu’s release.

The Command added that several attempts were made to invite the suspects for questioning, with letters reportedly sent on December 18, 2025, February 7, 2026, and March 3, 2026. However, it stated that none of the individuals honoured the invitations or appeared before investigators.

Following their alleged refusal to respond, the police declared them wanted and urged members of the public to provide useful information that could lead to their arrest, assuring that credible informants would be rewarded.
