Sponsors Of Oyo Gov’s Office Invasion Will Face Serious Consequences – Commissioner

The Oyo State Government has strongly condemned the invasion of the State Secretariat in Ibadan on Saturday by self-proclaimed Yoruba Nation agitators, labeling it an act of terrorism. According to the Nigerian Army, the agitators fired at soldiers dispatched to maintain law and order. Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, emphasized that those behind the invasion are now in serious trouble.

Oyelade stated, “Sponsors of the invasion of the Governor and State House of Assembly’s office have succeeded in landing themselves in serious trouble. Attempting to barge into the hallowed chambers of the legislature and take it over with an arsenal of seven pump action submachine guns and over 700 live cartridges, is an act of terrorism.”

He further praised the conduct of Prof Banji Akintoye, a prominent Yoruba nation agitator, for exhibiting wisdom and civility amidst the situation, showcasing the essence of Yoruba culture.

Despite the incident, Oyelade reiterated that Oyo State remains one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria and assured that Saturday’s occurrence would not tarnish this reputation.
