some are shortchanging workers by applying a fixed sum rather than the required percentage increase.
In an interview on ireporteronline, Osifo explained that the adjustment should involve a 133% increase for employees on lower grade levels, tapering off as salaries increase. However, some states are adding a flat sum, which does not reflect the intended adjustments.
Despite the ongoing issues, Osifo assured that the TUC is not planning a national strike. He emphasized that many states are in negotiations, and those that have yet to fully comply, like Zamfara and Cross River, are being mobilized for potential strike action if necessary. The TUC has empowered state councils to ensure proper adjustments are made.
Osifo added that while a few states, such as Oyo, are progressing well toward implementation, others are still lagging behind, and efforts to resolve these discrepancies are ongoing
