Superstar Naira Marley Warns Young Nigerians Against Betting Excesses
Singer and record label executive Naira Marley has advised young Nigerians against using football betting as a primary source of income. In a recent post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the artist emphasized that sports betting is not a reliable or sustainable livelihood.
“Football bet no be work bro. Please stop before they finish you,” he cautioned. Naira Marley also encouraged young people to trust in their own abilities, adding, “You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way.”
His warning comes as sports betting gains increasing popularity in Nigeria, particularly among youths facing unemployment and economic challenges who often view betting as a path to quick financial gains. Experts continue to raise concerns about the potential dangers of gambling, including addiction, financial losses, and strained personal relationships.
