Teacher Remanded For Allegedly Defiling Pupil

Ayuba, from Rawani, Jambutu, Yola, was charged with defilement under Section 211 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa State. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Musa Adamu adjourned the case until May 29 for further police investigation. He stated, “This case has been adjourned until May 29, to enable the police to finish their investigation and to forward the case file to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.”

According to ASP Ezra Bulus, the prosecution counsel, the complainant, Fatima Isah, mother of the minor, reported the matter to the police on May 2 around 6:00 pm. Bulus alleged that the victim, a student of Anur Modern Academy Yola, complained of severe pain in her private part after returning from school on April 29.

The prosecution emphasized the criminal nature of the offense and requested the court to adjourn the matter until May 29 for further proceedings. The offense is in violation of Section 211 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa, 2018.
