Cliff Mitchell, 24, faced the scrutiny of Croydon Crown Court as prosecutors painted a harrowing picture of his alleged crimes, including 13 counts of rape against two victims. Shockingly, six charges pertain to one female, including an assault when she was just 12 years old.

The court heard how Mitchell’s alleged misconduct came to light after one victim was spotted attempting to flee his car with her wrists bound by cable ties. Colleagues intervened, triggering an investigation that uncovered a series of disturbing allegations against the former police officer.

According to the prosecution, Mitchell’s threats were menacing and grotesque. In one instance, he reportedly warned a victim that he would slit her belly for every second she vomited in his car. The victim, bound and terrified, managed to escape and seek refuge with the help of a compassionate driver.

Prosecutors detailed Mitchell’s alleged reign of terror, spanning from 2014 to 2017 with one victim and from 2020 to 2023 with another, during his tenure as a serving officer with the Metropolitan Police. Despite vehement denials from Mitchell, the prosecution emphasized the victims’ repeated refusals and asserted that he imposed his sexual will upon them.

In addition to the rape charges, Mitchell also faces accusations of breaching a non-molestation order and two counts of kidnapping, all of which he denies vehemently.

As the trial unfolds, the shocking revelations underscore the gravity of the allegations against the former police officer and the trauma endured by the victims.
