Thousands Of APC Members Defect To PDP In Key Nigerian State

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has received a mammoth crowd of fresh APC members who recently dump the party to the PDP in Shelleng LGA.

The aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in their thousands who defected into the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Shelleng local government area said they were doing so to contribute to the development of the State through a PDP led Government

The leaders of the defectors include, Philip Gatuwa, Sayyada Sadiya Hussain, Ahmed Juggal, Ishaku Tala, and Abdulkadir Mai among others with thousands of their supporters from other opposition political parties.

Addressing the gathering in Shelleng, Governor Umaru Fintiri told them that his administration has constructed twenty-three kilometres Bakta rural road as well as Shelleng township road and sixty bed capacity cottage hospital in the area.

The Governor added that government under his watch has also rehabilitated schools and provided them instructional materials, restored feeding programme in boarding schools, ensure free education at certain level.

He stressed that the financial autonomy granted to local government councils by his administration was to ensure rapid and even development to people at the grassroots and called t on the people to elect credible leaders in the forthcoming local government polls.

Governor Umaru Fintiri declare that government has tackled the issue of security threats in Shelleng such as kidnapping and gave assurance that I will to continue to stem the tide of security breaches.

The Governor expressed the conviction that the PDP will bounce back and take over the mantle at the federal level having already silenced opposition Adamawa with rare performance.

In his remarks after receiving the defectors, the State Chairman of PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu observed that the returnees are great pillars in the political arena in Shelleng and assured them of fair treatment by the PDP,

Contribution seperately the Chairman of PDP in Shelleng local government, Alhaji Adamu Buba Kiri, and a former state legislator, Abubakar Mohammed said what Governor Umaru Fintiri has done to the people of Shelleng will forever remain indelible in their minds.

Responding on behalf of the defectors, Mr Philip Gatuwa and Sayyada Sadiya Hussaini urged the Governor not to speed up work in Shelleng Local Government Area to justify the confidence that these multitudes deposited in the Government.
