George, who noted that Atiku’s quest for the presidency has spanned since 1993, urged him to retire from the race, particularly with the 2027 election on the horizon.

Speaking at a press conference in his Ikoyi, Lagos office on Thursday, George appealed to Atiku to embrace the role of a statesman and let the younger generation take up the mantle. “Atiku, you will be 81 in 2027, and you’ve been running for the presidency since 1993. It’s time to step aside and act as an elder. I plead with you, in the name of Allah, to let go of this ambition and leave it for the future,” he stated.

George further criticized the PDP’s internal divisions, blaming personal ambitions for the party’s potential collapse. He condemned party members who, while still part of the PDP, have aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) without formally defecting, calling them cowards.

“We are where we are due to a self-inflicted crisis. We must now put aside personal ambitions and prevent the PDP from falling apart. Party elders should encourage these divisive members to reflect on national interest instead of their own agendas,” George emphasized.
