Tinubu made these remarks during a Ramadan dinner with members of the Federal judiciary, headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, on Tuesday.

“We must treat kidnappers as terrorists. They are cowardly,” stated the president.

Highlighting the heinous tactics employed by kidnappers, Tinubu emphasized their indiscriminate targeting of vulnerable individuals and institutions, particularly schools, resulting in widespread disaffection.

He continued, “We must treat them equally as terrorists in order to get rid of them, and I promise you we will get rid of them.”

The dinner witnessed the presence of serving and retired judicial officers, including two former CJNs, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and Justice Walter Onnoghen.

As the nation grapples with the menace of kidnapping, Tinubu’s call for a stringent response underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for collective action to safeguard the populace.
