on January 1, 2025, tragically slumped and passed away the same night.

Renowned for his humility and dedication, Ogunkanmi had been part of Lagos’ first batch of pilgrims and was said to have been filled with joy upon his return.

During a condolence visit to the family in Ikorodu, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, described the death as “providential,” urging the family to find solace in the belief that Ogunkanmi has gone to rest in the bosom of his Maker.

The late magistrate, also a revered Pilgrimage Ambassador of Nigeria, will be laid to rest on February 7, 2025, following a Service of Songs scheduled for February 6.

The Lagos judiciary and Christian community continue to mourn the loss of a gentle soul whose legacy of service and faith endures.
