Transcript Reveals US President Joe Biden Forgot Key Dates During Special Counsel Interview
A transcript of an interview between US President Joe Biden and special counsel Robert Hur has revealed instances where Biden forgot crucial dates, including the year his son Beau passed away from brain cancer and the year Donald Trump was elected president…….READ ALSO Trump Pledges To Release Detained US Capitol Rioters If Reelected
During the interview, Biden struggled to recall the year of Beau’s passing, asking, “What month did Beau die? Oh, God, May 30 —” before being reminded by White House lawyer Rachel Cotton and another individual that Beau passed away in May 2015.
Biden then questioned, “Was it 2015 he had died?” and upon confirmation, acknowledged, “It was May of 2015,” highlighting his uncertainty.
Contrary to Biden’s previous claim that Hur inappropriately raised his son’s death during the interview, the transcript showed that Biden himself brought it up without prompting.
Additionally, Biden mistakenly referenced Trump’s election year, suggesting it was in “November of 2017,” rather than the correct year.
The transcript’s release comes as Hur was set to testify before the House Judiciary Committee regarding his investigation into Biden’s handling of classified national security information post-vice presidency.
Hur’s report stirred controversy when he indicated that he wouldn’t recommend charges against Biden, partly due to the president’s advanced age and purported memory issues.
