Trouble Ahead As APC Members Call For Open Debate/Interview With Chairmanship Aspirants

Trouble seems to be brewing in the APC ahead of the March 26th party convention, Stakeholders and members of the party have queried why aspirants for the party’s top job are shying away from interviews and open debates on their plans to move the APC forward.

A group in the APC “Concerned Citizens Watch For Good Governance” CCWGG are spoiling for war, demanding that the shortlisted aspirants should come out for an open debate and tell party members what they want to do for their party.

It is funny and ridiculous that the aspirants for the national chairmanship seat of our great party are shy when it comes to communicating with their followers, aside from one or two who we see daily on TV articulating their ideas we have not been able to lay our hands on any other aspirant coming to tell us what they want to do.

It is a shame that these aspirants that have their billboards scattered all over Abuja can not come out on TV and explain their plans, what a disgrace.

Not only do we party members demand their visions for our party, Nigerians out there are desirous to know who becomes our chairman.

In the last six months in particular the APC as a party has refused to allow Nigerians rest, it has been one conspiracy theory or the other in the APC making the headlines.

When it comes to politicking these same people that wants to lead us are moving around flying all kinds of story and yet they can not have a face to face meeting with party members by any of the conventional or trending means.

Be it physical, interviews, debates, zoom conference etc. We demand unequivocally a debate whereby the shortlisted aspirants should come out and tell us their plans for the party? Aside from one or two going around granting interviews on a daily basis where are the rest?

The group says it is planning a protest to the APC national secretariat to lay their complaints.

Meanwhile, a fact check from our investigations shows there is indeed an attempt by some of the aspirants to shy away from interviews how much more open to a debate.

Findings on leading stations such as ARISE TV, Channels TV indicates there was a deliberate attempt by Senator Adamu Abdullahi and Senator Al Makura to shun an appearance to be interviewed on those platforms.

Only Saliu Mustapha and Sani Musa seem to be very much at home with live interviews with the press and even open to debates.

One of the key values of a leader is Good and strong communication” Excellent communication is the key to good leadership. An effective leader knows how to put across his message. They are good orators and communicate to get the work done. They are not harsh; they choose words and expressions which suit the situation and allow others to express their thoughts and ideas.”

Saliu  Mustapha specifically appears every day on TV discussing his ideas for the ruling party which in reality are the custodians of the fate of over 200 million Nigerians.
