Trump’s Growing Administration: Key Appointments For His Second Term
As US President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office, he has started announcing key appointments for his upcoming administration, outlining his plans for the White House. Trump has named Florida Republican Rep. Mike Waltz as his National Security Adviser…CONTINUE READING…
and Pete Hegseth, a veteran and co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend, as the Secretary of Defense.
Among other notable picks, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has been selected as the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel, while Trump’s longtime friend and real estate developer Steve Witkoff will serve as Special Envoy to the Middle East. Veteran Republican lawyer Bill McGinley will serve as White House Counsel, and John Ratcliffe is expected to head the CIA as its Director.
In addition, tech mogul Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have been appointed to lead the newly established “Department of Government Efficiency.”
Further appointments include:
- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, slated to become Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
- Former New York Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin, likely to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
- Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, chosen as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
- Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will oversee national border security.
Insiders suggest Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is the leading candidate for Secretary of State, while Stephen Miller, Trump’s immigration advisor, is expected to take on the role of White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy.
Sources also indicate that Taylor Budowich, a trusted advisor, will likely be named Deputy Chief of Staff for Presidential Personnel and Communications.
There have been talks about North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum potentially serving as “energy czar” given his strong alignment with Trump’s energy policies.
Former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton is under consideration for Attorney General, though Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt has recently dropped out of the race for this position. Trump has emphasized the importance of this role, considering it a cornerstone of his administration.
Other candidates for Treasury Secretary include Scott Bessent, a former Trump advisor on economic matters, along with several others still under consideration
