Israel’s foreign minister responded to Turkey’s decision by accusing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of authoritarian behavior, asserting that it disregards the interests of Turkish citizens and businesses. In light of this development, Israel has vowed to explore alternative trade routes, emphasizing local production and imports from other countries.

Tensions between Turkey and Israel have endured for years, marked by fluctuating diplomatic relations. The rupture in ties originated in 2010 following clashes between Israeli commandos and Turkish activists aboard a Gaza-bound ship.
