Utomi: I Was Not Aware Of Peter Obi’s Switch From ADC To NDC

According to Ireporter Online, former presidential candidate and political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, has revealed that he was not aware of Peter Obi’s reported move from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Utomi made this known on Monday during an interview on Arise News, stating that he was out of the country when the political realignment allegedly took place and was not included in the planning process.

He explained that he had previously insisted that members should remain in the ADC and work from within the party to achieve political success, rather than defecting to another platform.

Utomi also disclosed that while he was unaware of the specific arrangements leading to Obi’s movement, he had knowledge of alleged political manoeuvres aimed at preventing a certain candidate from appearing on the ballot, describing the situation as undemocratic and fast-moving.

He further noted that recent developments within the ADC, including internal disagreements and complaints from some members, appeared to justify Obi’s decision in hindsight, describing the move as a “smart” political strategy given the unfolding events.
