According to Ireporter Online, former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have officially joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and have been issued their party membership cards.

The development took place on Sunday evening at the party’s national headquarters, where the two prominent politicians were formally received into the party. The occasion also had in attendance Senator Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the NDC, who welcomed the new entrants into the fold.

Senator Dickson, while addressing them, described the party as one that does not operate within the confines of the status quo ante bellum, expressing optimism about the new political direction the party is taking.

Speaking after officially joining the party, former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, urged members of the NDC to avoid internal disputes being taken to court, stressing the need for unity and internal conflict resolution within the party.

Obi was quoted as saying that the party’s focus should be on building strong internal structures rather than resorting to litigation, adding that “we want to build a party, we are not lawyers,” while appealing for harmony among members.
