According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Tinubu has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as “landlord” during a brief exchange of pleasantries at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday.

The President, who had just returned from Lagos State, was received at the airport by Wike alongside other senior government officials. In a viral video from the encounter, Tinubu was heard jokingly addressing the former Rivers State governor, saying, “Landlord, you are back?” a remark that has since generated wide public reactions.

Meanwhile, Wike has recently been in Port Harcourt, where he has reportedly been engaging in political consultations aimed at strengthening his influence ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Rivers State.

In a related development, international media personality Donu Kogbara has criticised Wike over his alleged backing of another Ikwerre aspirant in the Rivers State governorship race. Kogbara, speaking on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” programme, described the move as insensitive, arguing that the ethnic group has already produced several governors and should not dominate the position again. She also commented on the emergence of Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as the APC governorship candidate, noting that while he is well-regarded, the political dynamics surrounding his candidacy remain controversial ahead of the 2027 general elections.
