Want A Job? ECOWAS Recruitment Now Open – See How To Apply
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially launched its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified citizens from member states, including Nigeria, to apply for over 30 positions across its institutions. According to Ireporter Online, the recruitment drive aims to enhance the implementation of ECOWAS’s sectoral programmes.
Applicants are required to submit their applications through the organisation’s official careers portal. Several positions are available in Abuja, Nigeria, including Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant roles, Legal Officers, Political Adviser, Principal Officer positions, Registrar roles, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard.
Opportunities are also available in other African locations, such as Administrative and Finance Officer roles in Addis Ababa, Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, and PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia, along with various legal and administrative roles in Dakar.
ECOWAS has specified age limits based on the category of role: 35 years for General Services or Support positions (G1 to G7), 45 years for Professional category (P1 to P7), and 50 years for Director positions (D1-D2).
Applicants must complete the official application form, attach a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter, and submit all documents to the designated email addresses before the April 30, 2026 deadline. The organisation warned against fraudulent recruitment schemes, emphasizing that there are no fees associated with its process and encouraged female applicants to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The recruitment exercise highlights ECOWAS’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting inclusive participation across member states.
