White House Throws Support Behind England After USA World Cup Exit

The White House has thrown its support behind England to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the elimination of the United States from the tournament.

According to Ireporter Online, Andrew Giuliani, who serves as U.S. President Donald Trump’s representative on World Cup affairs, said England would make deserving champions if they lift the trophy during the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations.

Giuliani said that while America had hoped to win the tournament on such a historic occasion, England emerging victorious would also provide a remarkable storyline. He noted that the Three Lions have endured a 60-year wait for World Cup success and described a potential triumph as a fitting and memorable achievement. He also expressed confidence in England’s chances, stating that they remain one of the strongest teams left in the competition.

He further disclosed that President Trump has been closely following the performances of England captain Harry Kane throughout the tournament and believes the prolific striker has what it takes to inspire his country to World Cup glory.

Giuliani also highlighted Trump’s long-standing interest in football, recalling a previous round of golf the president played with former England captain Wayne Rooney.

Kane recently revealed that he spent time golfing with Trump in Florida towards the end of 2024, describing the encounter as a surreal experience while commending the American president’s impressive golfing skills. The England skipper remarked that he hopes to play golf as well as Trump when he reaches his age.
