Wike Exposes PDP Governors Who Nominated Persons For Appointments In Tinubu’s Govt
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, disclosed that governors affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominated individuals for appointments within the administration of President Bola Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike made these statements in an exclusive interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today show on Wednesday.
Clarifying his earlier remarks, the former governor of Rivers State emphasized that it was the APC government that reached out to governors from both the PDP and the APC, soliciting nominations for various political positions.

Wike stated, “I never stated that PDP governors nominated ministers; that was not my assertion. What I said is that this (Tinubu) administration communicated with governors from both the PDP and APC, requesting nominations for appointments.”
He continued, “PDP governors did indeed submit nominations for appointments. These appointments encompassed positions on Boards and Commissions.”
The FCT minister challenged any PDP governor who hadn’t submitted any nominations to dispute his claim. He asserted that nobody had come forward to challenge him regarding this matter.
Regarding his own political stance, Wike asserted that he remains a committed PDP member and has no intentions of joining the APC. He clarified that he is actively supporting the Tinubu administration’s accomplishments as the FCT minister.
Moreover, Wike expressed his readiness to face any disciplinary actions that might arise from his statements, stating that he has yet to encounter any party official who would attempt to suspend or expel him from the PDP.
He went on to say, “Who has the authority to reprimand me? I believe it’s my responsibility to call for the accountability of individuals who have violated the party’s constitution, especially in regards to the party’s support for rotational principles.”
Wike confidently declared, “Who can suspend me? I’m ready to challenge anyone who dares me.”
Lastly, he confirmed that he had informed the PDP leadership before accepting the ministerial role offered by the President.
