EFCC Busts Yahoo Academy 14 Fraudsters Arrested In Makurdi Raid
In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) strikes hard, apprehending 14 individuals suspected of internet fraud at a clandestine “Yahoo Academy” in Makurdi….READ ALSO EFCC Recovers $13,204, Property, And Vehicles From Fraudster Behind Fake Marriage Scam!
Acting on actionable intelligence, operatives from the Makurdi Zonal Command conduct a decisive raid on a three-bedroom apartment along Achusa Road, Benue State, believed to serve as a training hub for aspiring internet fraudsters.
Among the arrested suspects are: Asongu Terungwa, Aese Sonter, Nyoosu Terungwa, John Kator, Udi Aodona, Terungu Mnyam, Iorwuese Terhide, Ule Francis, Imoter Gloor Emmanuel, and Samuel Lubem. Others caught in the operation include Wergba Tertamge, Erukaa Ephraim, Agenale Franklin, and Abechi Toryila.
Seizing vital evidence, EFCC operatives recover laptops, ATM cards, phones, a Firman generator, and a Toyota Corolla car from the premises.
This bold move by the EFCC serves as a resounding message to cybercriminals, reinforcing the agency’s unwavering commitment to combatting internet fraud and ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria’s digital landscape.
