Elumelu made this clear on Friday while addressing questions during the unveiling of the beneficiaries of the foundation’s prestigious Entrepreneurship Programme in Lagos.
As the Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Elumelu emphasized that he has no aspirations to lead the country, stating that not everyone is suited for such a role.
Furthermore, the Nigerian businessman expressed pride in the achievements of the foundation over the past decade since its establishment.
Elumelu highlighted the significant impact of the foundation’s initiatives, noting that 1,104 young entrepreneurs from 54 African countries will each receive a non-refundable $5,000 seed capital.
He emphasized the foundation’s commitment to spreading prosperity across Africa by empowering young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses.
Elumelu celebrated the foundation’s milestone of supporting over 20,000 young individuals from across Africa with over $100 million in funding, showcasing the impact of their programs.
Reflecting on the foundation’s journey, Elumelu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference, stressing the importance of combating poverty as a collective effort.
He concluded by expressing his joy in continuing to spread prosperity not only in Nigeria but across all 54 African countries, highlighting the foundation’s commitment to impacting the next generation positively.
