Group Condemns Invasion Of Edwin Clark’s Home, Demands Apology

The Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC), a sociopolitical group in the Niger Delta region, has strongly condemned the invasion of the country home of elder statesman, Edwin Clark, by military troops in search of arms. The invasion occurred as military personnel were searching for a suspect allegedly involved in the killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama.

In a statement signed by its President, Bene Youkore Mamamu, the NDYC warned against attempts to implicate the Niger Delta region in the killings and demanded that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, issue a public apology for the actions of the invading soldiers.

The group emphasized its support for investigations into the killings of the soldiers and called for the perpetrators to face consequences for their actions. Additionally, they reiterated the peaceful nature of the Niger Delta people and their commitment to abiding by the law.

The NDYC urged the Nigerian government to ensure that Edwin Clark receives the necessary support and compensation for the ordeal he endured during the invasion of his home.
