In a statement issued by the President General of the forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, on Sunday, the abduction of the children and their teacher was described as a devastating event. Shettima highlighted the traumatic experience endured by the children during the bandit attack on their school in March.

Expressing deep concern over the escalating security crisis in the North, Shettima emphasized the urgent need to address the alarming increase in school abductions, which poses a serious threat to education in the region.

Commending the collaborative efforts between the government, security agencies, and local communities that led to the rescue of the children, Shettima stressed the importance of sustaining such collaborative efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Shettima reiterated the call for the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to eradicate criminal elements from the region. He firmly opposed negotiating with bandits, emphasizing that criminals should not be negotiated with under any circumstances.
