Shettima Arrives In Maiduguri For Eid-el-Fitri Festivities

Welcoming him were the Deputy Governor of Borno, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, members of the State Executive Council, and prominent party leaders.

Reports indicate that security has been significantly heightened in Maiduguri and its surroundings ahead of the festive occasion.

The Eid-el-Fitri festivity, symbolizing the culmination of Ramadan fasting, is expected to take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday, contingent upon the Lunar calendar, marking the advent of the new Islamic month of Shawwal.

Tinubu’s Eid-el-Fitri Observance Scheduled for Lagos President Bola Tinubu is set to depart from the nation’s capital, Abuja, on Sunday, heading for Lagos in preparation for the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.

The Eid-el-Fitri festival is commemorated by Muslims globally after observing a month-long Ramadan fast.

According to a statement from the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu will “reflect on the occasion through prayers for Nigeria and will spend time with family in respect of this solemn event, which signifies the end of Ramadan.”

Ngelale further noted that the president will continue with official duties both during and after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.
