Troops Kill Six Terrorists In Borno Ambush, As officer Fatally Killed

Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed this information in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja.

Buba noted that while an army Lieutenant succumbed to injuries during the ambush, four other personnel who were wounded in action are currently receiving medical treatment.

He further stated that reinforcements pursued the terrorists to their hideout within the Timbuktu Triangle and successfully neutralized six of them.

Troops also recovered five AK-47 rifles and 103 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition during the operation.

“The remaining terrorists scattered in disarray, and the troops are actively tracking down the remnants who fled the scene,” Buba added, emphasizing the ongoing pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.
