In a widely circulated flier, MRS Oil urged the public to report any outlets not complying with the new price, emphasizing its commitment to providing affordable fuel to consumers.

This price adjustment by MRS Oil comes in response to Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s decision to further lower diesel prices to ₦940 per litre for bulk buyers. The refinery has been actively driving down prices in the market, initially slashing prices from ₦1,200/litre to ₦1,000/litre and now to ₦940/litre.

Anthony Chiejina, a spokesperson for Dangote Refinery, affirmed a strategic partnership with MRS Oil to extend the benefits of reduced diesel prices nationwide. This collaboration aims to ensure that retail buyers are not subjected to exorbitant prices and is part of the Dangote Group’s broader initiative to alleviate economic hardships in Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu commended Dangote Refinery’s efforts, hailing them as an enterprising feat that underscores the industry’s dedication to supporting the nation’s economy.

This initiative reflects a significant shift in Nigeria’s fuel pricing strategy, with major industry players actively working to make essential commodities more accessible to the public amidst ongoing economic challenges.
