Urgent Plea For Help Anglican Priest Kidnapped In Bold Night Attack

According to sources, the abduction occurred around 9:00 PM on October 26, 2024, at the entrance of St. James’ Parish in Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State.

As of this report, there has been no communication from the kidnappers to the priest’s family regarding any ransom demands or motives behind the abduction. The church community has begun prayer sessions for his safe return.

When contacted, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, stated that the police had not received any reports about the incident.

In related news, a police inspector in Enugu State, part of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, has been arrested following the alleged shooting death of renowned traditional Ogene musician Okezie Mba, also known as Igbo-Jah.

The incident occurred around 8:10 PM on October 25, 2024, at the Tactical Squad’s Headquarters. Reports indicate that Mba was leaving after a friendly visit when the officer discharged his weapon, fatally injuring him. Mba was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival, and his body has since been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.

The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, has called for a thorough investigation led by the Deputy Commissioner overseeing the State CID to clarify the circumstances of the shooting. He expressed condolences to Mba’s family, friends, and fans, deeming the incident unacceptable and assuring that appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken if culpability is established.
