at the forefront of this initiative, highlighting the administration’s commitment to ensuring food security.

The presidential aide highlighted middlemen as a primary driver of inflation through the hoarding of essential commodities, including food supplies. In response, collaborations with state governments are underway to establish commodity boards and zonal exchanges, streamlining food availability and reducing inflation.

In a statement shared on X, Olusegun revealed several mechanisms designed to meet this goal, including the imminent delivery of farm equipment to bolster agricultural productivity.

“These efforts go beyond the delivery of 2,000 tractors mentioned in President Tinubu’s New Year address. We’re also expecting 4,000 disc ploughs, 1,000 disc ridges, 1,200 tractor trailers, and assorted spare parts over the coming weeks through the National Agricultural Mechanization Programme (NAMP).”

Additionally, Olusegun highlighted a partnership with John Deere to establish assembly and maintenance plants in Nigeria, ensuring a steady supply of these agricultural tools over the next five years.

Several states are set to benefit from the Special Agro Processing Zone programme, spearheaded by the Africa Development Bank, to enhance storage solutions and combat hoarding and middlemen-induced inflation.

With these initiatives, the administration is determined to create a sustainable, self-reliant agricultural sector, paving the way for reduced inflation and improved food security for Nigerians.
