During his appearance before the Senate Committee on Power to defend the 2025 budget, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, stated that efforts are in place to reduce the frequency of grid collapses and improve the turnaround time for restoration. However, he emphasized that the national electricity grid remains vulnerable, especially with the unresolved repair of a critical transmission line, the Shiroro-Kaduna-Mando line, which was damaged by vandalism in October 2024.
