Breaking: Peter Obi Demands Clarity On Tinubu’s Proposed 2025 Budget Increase

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has raised concerns over President Bola Tinubu’s proposed increase of Nigeria’s 2025 budget from ₦49.7 trillion to ₦54.2 trillion. Obi noted that while the government has outlined revenue sources, it has failed to justify how the increased funds will be allocated. He stressed that Nigerians deserve to know how their resources are being managed to ensure they are channeled towards critical sectors such as education, healthcare, security, and poverty alleviation.

“Nigerians are still waiting for a detailed report on the execution of the Renewed Hope budget passed in December 2023,” Obi stated, calling on the National Assembly to release the full details of the 2024 budget and ensure that the 2025 Budget of Restoration prioritizes openness and the welfare of citizens.

He concluded by urging lawmakers to uphold transparency, as it is vital for accountability and informed governance, ensuring the nation’s progress and safeguarding the future of its people.
