Federal Government Collaborates with Azare Consulting to Develop Nigeria’s Gaming Industry

The signing ceremony, held in Abuja, was attended by Uche Nnaji, the Hon. Minister of Innovation, Science & Technology, who described the partnership as a key move to enhance the gaming industry by establishing a solid technological framework.

Key objectives of the partnership include:

1. Establishing a Legal Framework: The MoU aims to create a well-defined legal structure to regulate the gaming sector, reducing illicit activities such as unlicensed operations and fraud. This will ensure transparency and fairness in the industry.

2. Developing Industry Guidelines: Structured policies will be introduced to streamline gaming operations, ensuring consumer protection and fostering long-term growth.

3. Attracting Global Partnerships: The agreement seeks to attract international investors and global partnerships, unlocking new revenue streams for the sector and positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global gaming market.

4. Training and Capacity Building: Provisions are included for training programs to build the skills of industry professionals, promote innovation, and strengthen Nigeria’s position as a leader in gaming innovation in Africa.

The Director General of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Dr. Lady Obiageli Amadiobi, praised the agreement for modernizing the sector and aligning technology adoption with Nigeria’s economic goals.

Saadatu Hamu, representing Azare Consulting, highlighted that the partnership would bring global best practices to Nigeria’s gaming industry, boosting transparency and investor confidence.

Minister Nnaji emphasized that the government is committed to leveraging technology and innovation to drive economic growth and development, with this agreement being part of a broader strategy to strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
