Wike Dismisses Fubara’s Letter To Rivers Assembly Regarding Supreme Court Verdict as ‘Useless’
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, has dismissed the letter sent by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the Rivers State House of Assembly regarding the implementation of the Supreme Court’s verdict on the state’s political affairs. The letter, which sought an audience with the lawmakers, was criticized by Wike, who emphasized that Speaker Martins Amaewhule and other members of the House are not subordinates to Fubara. He argued that they deserve respect and should not be approached in such a manner. Instead of publicly issuing a letter, Wike suggested that Fubara should have directly contacted Amaewhule and the House members to schedule a meeting.
Wike’s remarks highlight ongoing political tensions within the state following the Supreme Court ruling.
